PSHRE/RSE
PSHRE (Personal, Social, Health, Relationships and Economic Education) allows the children to learn different strategies which helps them deal with problems in a variety of ways and resolve conflicts they may face in the different environments and relationships they may encounter. The children also learn about the importance of staying healthy (including alcohol, tobacco and drugs education) as well as age appropriate SRE (Sex and Relationships Education) in their PSHRE lessons. The children have access to a variety of resources including Lucinda and Godfrey and Curriculum4Life, commissioned by Redcar and Cleveland Council and South Tees Public Health.
Through our teaching of PSHRE at Bankfields Primary School, we aim to prepare our children for the challenges and responsibilities they will face as they grow up in such rapidly changing and challenging times. PSHRE promotes children’s personal, social and economic development, as well as their health and well-being. It gives the children the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives and to become informed, active and responsible citizens.
