Our Curriculum

Bankfields Primary School Curriculum Statement

At Bankfields Primary School, the aim of our curriculum is foster a climate of curiosity and passion in our children about the world around them, helping them to develop an understanding of and be open-minded about wider national and global issues. We aim to immerse them in first hand experiences, which they may not have access to otherwise, and allow them to explore their own interests as well as building on their strengths in different curriculum areas. At Bankfields Primary School, we want to raise the aspirations of our pupils so that they can be happy, successful and proud of what they achieve and have belief in themselves as individuals. This will in turn improve their life chances and equip them with the skills and knowledge that they need to support them on their journey through life.

We believe children learn better when they are encouraged to use their imagination, be creative and apply their learning to engaging contexts. Our curriculum provides lots of learning challenges throughout the academic year that require children to solve problems, apply themselves creatively and express their knowledge and understanding effectively across the curriculum.
