30 Hours Funded Childcare

We are delighted to offer 30 hours funded childcare for eligible families from September 2026.
This provision is designed to support working parents and provide children with the very best start to their education in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.

What We Offer
At Bankfields Primary School, our early years provision provides:

  • A warm, welcoming environment led by experienced early years practitioners
  • High-quality teaching and learning following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Opportunities to develop communication, confidence, and independence
  • Access to both indoor and outdoor learning spaces

We place a strong emphasis on learning through play, ensuring that every child develops the skills they need for a smooth transition into Reception and beyond.

30 Hours Childcare Explained
Eligible families can access:

  • Up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week during term time
  • Flexible sessions (subject to availability and demand)
  • High-quality early education at no cost for the funded hours

Who is Eligible?
You may be eligible for 30 hours funded childcare if:

  • Both parents (or a single parent) are working
  • Each parent earns at least the equivalent of 16 hours per week at minimum wage
  • You meet HM Government eligibility criteria

Parents must apply online and receive a 30-hour eligibility code before taking up a place.

How to Apply

  • Check your eligibility via the Government childcare website
  • Apply online to receive your eligibility code
  • Complete our online form to register your interest
  • Provide your eligibility code to secure your child’s place

We strongly recommend applying early as places are limited.
